Recyclable trash will be picked up every other Thursday for East Waynesville (east of H Hwy) and every other Friday for west Waynesville. The City will issue you five plastic bags which can be picked up in the Utility Office at City Hall. The truck will empty your bags and leave them in a convenient area.
How to separate recyclables:
I) Paper Corrugated cardboard: cardboard in small quantities must be put in these bags or flattened out and bound with string. If you have large quantities of cardboard you will have to make other arrangements for pick up.
2) Plastic All materials must be washed out and all lids/directional spouts are to be removed. Labels do not have to be removed. Check containers for the recycling symbol which are usually found on the bottom of containers.
3) Glass Green, brown and clear mixed. All materials must be washed out and lids removed. Labels do not have to be removed.
4) Tins Tin cans only, no aerosol or cans that contain household hazardous chemicals. Any large items must have other arrangements for pick up.
5) Aluminum All aluminum cans. Aluminum and tin cans may be put in the same bag.
