Job Opening: Administrative Assistant I
The City of Waynesville is accepting applications for a full-time Administrative Assistant I. This position provides essential administrative support to City Hall’s Front Office as well as the Utilities Administration Office. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering excellent customer service to residents, visitors, and staff.
Position: Administrative Assistant I
Status: Full-Time (Monday – Friday), Benefited
Location: City of Waynesville Municipal Center, Waynesville, MO
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Provide general administrative and clerical support, including answering phones, greeting visitors, processing mail, and maintaining records.
Assist Front Office staff with day-to-day operations, customer inquiries, and departmental coordination.
Support the Utilities Administration Office by processing utility payments, assisting customers with billing questions, and completing related documentation.
Prepare and maintain accurate files, reports, and correspondence.
Operate office equipment such as computers, printers, scanners, and multi-line phone systems.
Perform data entry with accuracy and attention to detail.
Assist with scheduling, public inquiries, and information requests.
Collaborate with other city departments as needed to support efficient operations.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in an administrative, clerical, or customer service role preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with computers and common office software (Microsoft Office, email, etc.).
Ability to multitask, stay organized, and maintain confidentiality.
