Waynesville, MO – On Monday, April 14th, the City of Waynesville proudly sent four members of its Electric Department to Jefferson City to take part in Lineman Appreciation Day at the Missouri State Capitol. They joined fellow linemen from across the state in recognition of the essential and often dangerous work linemen perform year-round to keep our communities powered and safe.
Lineman Appreciation Day is an annual event set aside to honor the dedication and service of linemen throughout Missouri. Both the Missouri House of Representatives and the Senate passed a formal resolution to acknowledge the vital role these professionals play in maintaining and restoring electric service, often under the most challenging conditions.
“We are incredibly proud of the hardworking individuals who represent our Electric Department,” said City Administrator John Doyle. “These men serve our community with unwavering commitment—rain or shine, day or night.”
Waynesville’s team at the Capitol included:
Daniel Shelden – Electric Department Supervisor, 14 years of service
Josh Evans – Journeyman Lineman, 10 years of service
Keetan Stutesman – 3rd-Year Apprentice, 1.5 years of service
Tyler Langston – 2nd-Year Apprentice, 1.5 years of service
Other vital members of the Electric Department who were unable to attend include:
Craig Wilson – Assistant Supervisor, 29 years of service
Bradley Curnutt – 4th-Year Apprentice, 2 years of service
These dedicated employees exemplify the values of reliability, resilience, and community service. The City of Waynesville takes this opportunity to express our heartfelt appreciation for their continued efforts and contributions.
