The City has recently transitioned to a new payment processing system in order to restore convenience payment options for utility customers. As part of this effort to restore online payments, a new third-party payment processor is now being utilized for both online payments and what was formerly called Utility Billing ACH. The existing ACH data was migrated to this new software, as the old failing system was a combined online payment site and ACH payment site.
We've been notified that the third-party provider is charging a $2.00 fee for eCheck (Formerly ACH) payments processed through automatic bill pay. Please note that this fee is collected and retained by the third-party providerβthe City does not receive any portion of this fee.
We understand this is a change for customers who were previously enrolled in fee-free ACH payments, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Customers who no longer wish to remain enrolled in Utility Billing Automatic ACH may:
Log in to their Front Desk account and unenroll from autopay, or
Contact the Utility Office, and staff will be happy to remove autopay on your behalf.
Payment methods accepted without a processing fee include cash, check, or money order, payable in person at City Hall. You are also encouraged to utilize BillPay programs provided by your financial institution if that service is offered for free.
We appreciate your understanding and continued patience as we work to improve payment services for our customers.
For questions or assistance, please contact the Utility Office at 573-774-5217.
