WAYNESVILLE, Mo. (July 17, 2026) — The City of Waynesville proudly announces the official swearing-in of Joshua Hazel as the City's new Chief of Police. Chief Hazel took the Oath of Office during the Waynesville City Council meeting held on July 16, 2026, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the leadership of the Waynesville Police Department.

Chief Hazel brings 16 years of dedicated service with the Waynesville Police Department to his new role. Throughout his career, he has earned the respect of fellow officers, city leadership, and the community through his professionalism, integrity, and unwavering commitment to public safety.
