Last night at the August City Council Meeting, Mayor Sean A. Wilson had the pleasure of nominating Mr. Anthony Harold to fill the current Ward II seat that was vacated by Mr. Ryan Hicks in June. The Council voted unanimously to accept the nomination.

Mr. Harold is currently the Director of Marketing & Admissions for the Life Care Center of Waynesville. Him and his wife Paula have been married for 25 years and have two beautiful children, Elizabeth and Jacob.Mr. Harold has spent most of his life as an entrepreneur, managing his own business in the financial services industry. His core beliefs center around community, longevity and strength for small businesses.

"I have a simple leadership style," states Mr. Harold. "I like to keep it simple as much as possible and lead from the front, keeping things transparent, open and honest. I focus on what we can do for others bringing Glory to God."

Mr. Harold will be filling the Committee seats that former Councilman Hicks held. He will be a member of both the Utility and Economic Development Committees.

Please be advised that North Benton Street, from School Street to Olive Street, will be closed to all traffic on Wednesday, August 13th, and Thursday, August 14th, between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day.

The closure is necessary to complete culvert repair work in the area. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time and encourage drivers to plan alternate routes.
